If you are just hooked to the Firefox browser, then you know the importance of Add-ons. Life is nothing without extensions and plugins for Firefox users. The whole strategy of adding easy extensions, of your choice, to the browser amazes me. The browser gives a choice for even the smallest of its features to be implemented by its users. Ranging from the visual bookmarking to downloading the videos button, Firefox provides everything or nothing depending on the user's choice. Therefore, the Firefox toolbar/plugin development approach appears clean and non-imposing to me.
Next thing that helps me stay connected to Firefox is that, these days, it doesn't require frequent refreshing to add an add-on. If you are more of an experimenting person like me, Firefox is full of life and novel features. It is an open platform for people with creative stride (both developers and users). In terms of speed I will support Chrome; however, Firefox is more complex yet sophisticated in terms of browsing experience.
Going Back to the History
Created by Dave Hyatt and Blake Ross, Firefox came a long way through its path of successes more than failure. Maintaining its cross-platform nature, Mozilla would never become obsolete and continues to encourage innovation since 2005. Firefox changed its face with the changing world. With the progression in technology, Mozilla has always been on the fore-front for implementation.
For years, Mozilla has been tested for reliability. Its rapid development cycle began since the launch of Firefox version 5. With the implementation of HTML5, CSS3, MathML and various other functionalities, the browser faced several critics but kept its improvement eminent.
Achievements through Firefox plug-in development
What made Firefox attract so many users? The answer is Add-ons. The strategy we spoke about in the beginning of this article is of significant importance when we talk about Mozilla's success. Mozilla developed a basic browser that is third-party compatible unlike other browsers, which failed to adopt this strategy before Firefox's market launch. Many browsers are even more flexible now; however, Firefox has its monopoly and its users have set up an understanding level with the browser.
Due to its extensive capability, Firefox toolbar development and Firefox sidebar development are the center of business for many companies. As more than 40 percent of the total population uses Mozilla browser, there is an obvious reason for high development in this area.
Mozilla also encourages custom Firefox toolbar development for those who have specific browsing needs. With extensive research and development resources, proficient developers evolve dynamic toolbars, which auto-format based upon a server side stimulus. Custom toolbars support personalized browsing and browsers like Firefox make the entire process of development and integration easier.
Mozilla is always open for creative individuals. It provides tools and explanation to help individuals give life to their imaginative and artistic thoughts. For developers, it is an open source platform to show case talent; and for users, it is a platform to experiment with the latest utility tools made available in the Mozilla market.
